Venue

The Conference will take place at the "Complesso Didattico Universitario Laterino" of the University of Siena, a center with classroom and lecture halls located adjacent to the Department of Earth Sciences, Via Laterino 8, Siena (coord. 43.31501, 11.3233).

Venue

The area where the Congress Venue is located can be reached by car, but there is only a very small car park nearby; a larger car park is the "Il Duomo" car park, about 400 m from the Conference Venue. The Conference can be easily reached on foot (see the dotted red line in the image above). The S54 line of the Siena city bus service has a stop very close to the Conference Venue.

Travel to Siena

By train

The best option is to take a train from Florence main station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella station) that usually leaves every hour and takes about an hour and a half to Siena station. Visit the Trenitalia website for information on prices, timetables and purchasing tickets.

By bus

Siena is well connected to Florence main station by several long-distance buses (timetable).

By plane

There is no airport in Siena and Florence [FLR] is the airport which is closest to Siena, followed by Perugia [PEG], Pisa [PSA], Bologna [BLQ], Rome Fiumicino [FCO] and Rome Ciampino [CIA].

By car

If you decide to drive to Siena, remember that the historic centre of Siena is accessible only for pedestrians, so knowing where to park your car is helpful (charges are about 2 Euro per hour or 35 Euro per day).
